Okay, so, I’ve been obsessed with this PRADA bag for, like, forever. It’s the Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag. Super classic, you know? They’ve been making it for ages, and it’s just one of those bags that never goes out of style.
Anyway, I finally decided to do it – to try and remake it. I found this Special Edition version in my closet, and I thought, “Why not?” So, I started by taking apart the old one. I carefully took out the stitches. It was kind of scary, but also exciting! I just wanted to know the secrets of the bag, you know?
Then I started to prepare the new materials. The whole bag uses the Saffiano leather. This stuff is textured, it has this crosshatch pattern thing going on. And I know that Prada is like, super proud of it or something. So I traced the old pieces onto the new leather, making sure to get all those little details right. Cutting it out was a bit nerve-wracking, not gonna lie. One wrong move and, bam, you’ve messed up the whole thing.
- First, I tried to put together the front and back panels.
- Then I added the side pieces, which was kind of tricky to get the shape right.
- After that, I worked on the bottom part, which needed to be super sturdy.
The handles were also a challenge to sew, I needed to make sure they were strong enough to hold stuff. It took forever, but I did it. There was a lot of taking it apart and putting it back together, I lost count of how many times I had to redo things, and how many needles I broke. It was crazy! I used to sew some simple stuff, like pillows or something, but this was something else. I really had no idea what I was getting myself into. But, I wanted to see if I could pull it off. It was kind of like a puzzle. A really, really complicated, and expensive puzzle.
Finally, after what felt like a million years, it was done. The bag was finished! I have to admit, it’s not perfect. I did my best, but some of the stitches are a little wonky, and the lining isn’t exactly like the original. But I think it looks pretty good. And the feeling of accomplishment? Totally worth all the trouble.
So, yeah, that’s my story of how I remade the Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag. It was definitely an adventure, but I’m so glad I did it. I learned so much, and now I have a cool, one-of-a-kind bag that I can actually say I made myself! Plus, now I know how to make the Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag, which is pretty cool, right?
