Why the Remake PRADA Small Galleria Saffiano Bag Special Edition Is a Must-Have from Specialty Stores.

Okay, so I got this idea the other day to try and remake that Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag from the specialty stores. I mean, 83 pieces in one bag? That’s just begging for a challenge, right? Plus, I’ve heard these things can go for more than some LV bags, and those are already pretty pricey. So, I figured, why not give it a shot? It is a good idea to save money.

First off, I started by just looking at pictures of the bag online. I needed to get a good feel for its “pure and simple lines” that everyone talks about. And let me tell you, it does look sleek and timeless. I spent a good few hours just studying the design, trying to figure out how all those 83 pieces fit together.

Then came the fun part – gathering materials. I needed to find something similar to that Saffiano leather. I hit up a bunch of local fabric and leather stores, asking around, comparing textures and colors. It took a while, but I finally found a leather that I thought would work. It wasn’t exactly the same, but it had that same kind of textured look and feel.

Next, I started cutting. I sketched out all the different pieces based on the pictures I’d been studying. It felt like putting together a really complicated puzzle. I carefully cut each piece out of the leather, making sure to follow my sketches as closely as possible. After finishing the cutting, I labeled all of them.

After that, it was time to start assembling. This was definitely the trickiest part. I started with the main body of the bag, stitching the pieces together one by one. Then I added the handles, the lining, and all the little details. It took a lot of patience and a lot of redoing some parts, but slowly but surely, the bag started to take shape.

  • Cutting: This was like a puzzle, cutting out 83 pieces from my chosen leather.

  • Assembling: Piecing it all together, which was super tricky but fun.

  • Admiring: Stepping back to look at my very own “Prada” bag.

Finally, after days of work, I was done! I stepped back and looked at my creation. It wasn’t a perfect replica, of course, but it definitely had that same vibe as the original Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag. I was pretty proud of myself, to be honest. I even looked for one of those Quality Assurance Tags to stick inside, just for kicks. It turned out to be harder than I thought, so I gave up.

My Remake Result

I know it’s not the real deal, but I learned a ton making it. Maybe one day, I’ll splurge on the real thing, but for now, I’m happy with my handmade version. Plus, it’s a great conversation starter! And I did save a bunch of money, which is always a good thing.
