Okay, so let’s talk about this whole CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Super Racing watch thing, the one you can supposedly only get at their “Specialty Stores.”
First off, I got wind of this new Speedmaster, right? It’s called the Super Racing, and apparently, it’s a big deal because of some fancy new hairspring technology. Sounds cool, but the catch was you could supposedly only buy it at these “Specialty Stores.” Now, I’m not a huge watch guy, but I like to think I know a thing or two, and this piqued my interest. I started digging around.
I tried to find out where these Specialty Stores were. It wasn’t as easy as you’d think. Information online was pretty scarce. There was a lot of chitchat on some watch forums, but nothing concrete. Eventually, I found a list of boutiques that was supposedly selling them. And guess what? There wasn’t one near me.
So, I called a few of these stores. The first few calls were a bust. Either nobody picked up, or they had no clue what I was talking about. Finally, I got through to a store a few states away. The guy on the phone confirmed they had the Super Racing in stock. He was pretty knowledgeable, actually, explaining the whole “Spirate System” thingy to me. I won’t even attempt to explain it, but it sounded complicated.
I debated whether to make the drive. It was a solid few hours, and gas prices are crazy right now! But I was curious. I wanted to see this watch in person. So, I hopped in my car and hit the road.
When I finally got to the store, it was pretty swanky. I spotted the watch right away, in a display case. They let me try it on. It was definitely a nice piece, I’ll give them that. A little too big for my wrist, maybe, but still cool to see. They also showed me a regular Speedmaster for comparison. The Super Racing definitely had a different vibe.
