Well, folks, I finally took the plunge and decided to give it a shot – remaking that famous YSL JUNE BOX BAG. You know, the one that’s shaped like a little box? It’s supposed to be a real classic, never goes out of style, or so they say.

First, I spent a good chunk of time just staring at pictures of this darn bag. I looked at it from every angle, trying to figure out how it was all put together. It is a “box,” and I needed to see how the pieces of this box were cut and sewn together. These YSL folks, they got a whole bunch of bags. But this JUNE BOX, it’s special, they say. Got that YSL logo, same as all their other stuff. They make all sorts of things – clothes, shoes, you name it. But this bag, it’s supposed to be a real sturdy one, made to last like a good house, built to last.

Then came the fun part – or maybe the not-so-fun part, depending on how you look at it. I needed to find the materials. I rummaged through my old fabric stash, looking for anything that looked and felt like the real deal. I also used an old bag for the hard parts to give it that boxy shape. It took a while, but I finally found some stuff that I thought would work.

After that, it was time to start cutting. I used that old box as a pattern, and started cutting out the pieces for the bag. This was tricky, let me tell you. One wrong cut and the whole thing would be messed up. But I took my time, measured twice, cut once, just like grandpa used to say. I also cut out the fabric pieces, making sure they were the right size and shape.

Next, I started putting the pieces together. This was like putting together a puzzle, except if you put the pieces in the wrong place, you’d end up with a wonky-looking bag. I started with the boxy part, using glue to stick it all together. Then, I sewed the fabric pieces onto the box, making sure everything was nice and tight.

The last part was adding the strap and the YSL logo. I used an old strap I had lying around, and for the logo, well, I tried to make one out of some scrap material. It doesn’t look exactly like the real thing, but hey, it’s got that homemade charm, right?

Here’s a little breakdown of what I did:

  • Studied the bag: Looked at tons of pictures to figure out the design.
  • Gathered materials: Found fabric, an old box for structure, an old strap, and some scrap material for the logo.
  • Cut the pieces: Carefully cut out the box and fabric pieces.
  • Assembled the bag: Glued the box together, sewed the fabric onto the box.
  • Added the finishing touches: Attached the strap and made a makeshift YSL logo.

So there you have it, folks. My attempt at remaking the YSL JUNE BOX BAG. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of it. It was a fun little project, and it taught me a lot about how these fancy bags are made. Maybe I’ll try another one someday, who knows? But for now, I think I’ll stick to my regular old tote bag. It might not be a “classic,” but it gets the job done.
