Alright, folks, gather ’round, gather ’round. Old man’s got a story for ya, and it ain’t about fishin’ or huntin’ this time. I thought to myself, “This is a lot of money for somethin’ that just tells time.” But the way that fella in the suit talked about it, it was like he was sellin’ a piece of history, a piece of the moon or somethin’.
I tried on a few more, some a little cheaper, some even more expensive. I learned some fancy words, like “Tachymeter”. I had no idea what that meant, but it sounded important. One of them, they called it the “CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster 38mm,” and they said it was “original order”. I don’t know what that means either, but it felt different, you know? Like it had a story to tell.

At the end of the day, I didn’t buy one. Not yet, anyway. I decided that I was just not ready to spend that much money on a watch. But I gotta say, I get it now. I get why people like these things. They ain’t just watches. They’re like little pieces of art, little machines you can wear on your wrist.

Go to them specialty stores, try ’em on, feel ’em in your hand. And don’t let them fancy words fool ya. It’s your wrist, and it’s your money. Make sure it feels right.
That’s all I got for now. Maybe one day I’ll be back with one of these fancy watches on my wrist. But for now, my trusty old watch will do just fine. It might not have been to the moon, but it’s seen a lot of life right here with me. And that’s somethin’, ain’t it?
