So, I went ahead and decided to remake that Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG. Yeah, the one from the official flagship store. Heard a lot of folks talkin’ about it, you know? “Remake,” they said. Sounded interestin’, like when I try to fix up that old chair in the living room. Never done somethin’ like this before, but hey, there’s a first time for everything, right?
First off, I spent a good chunk of time just lookin’ at pictures of this bag. You know, tryin’ to get a feel for it. This YSL JUNE BOX BAG, it’s a real looker. They say it’s a Saint Laurent, which I guess is a big deal in the fancy world. I just saw a nice-lookin’ bag that I wanted to try my hand at remaking.
After studying it for a while, I started gathering materials. Now, I ain’t no expert on fancy leathers and whatnot, but I found some good-quality stuff that seemed to match the pictures. It wasn’t cheap, mind you, but I figured if I’m gonna do this, I might as well do it right. Reminded me of when I decided to re-tile the bathroom floor – gotta get the right tiles, you know?

- Metal bits and bobs for that twisty thing on the front, check.
Then came the hard part – actually puttin’ it all together. I started by cutting the leather, measurin’ and markin’ everything real careful-like. This part was a bit tricky, not gonna lie. Had to redo a few pieces, but eventually, I got it right. It was kinda like when I tried to follow that complicated recipe for my grandma’s apple pie – a lot of trial and error, but worth it in the end.
Sewin’ was next. Now, I’ve done my fair share of sewin’ over the years, fixin’ clothes and whatnot, but this was a whole different ball game. This leather was thick, and I had to make sure all the stitches were nice and even. It took a while, but I got into a rhythm. It was kinda peaceful, in a way, just me and the needle and thread.
The most challengin’ part was probably that twisty metal thing on the front of the bag. I think it’s called a clasp or somethin’. It’s got this fancy YSL logo on it. I tried to recreate it as best as I could, but it definitely ain’t perfect. It works, though, and that’s what matters, right? Like when I fixed the broken latch on the garden gate – it ain’t pretty, but it does the job.
After many hours and a few frustrated sighs, I finally finished. And you know what? It actually looked like a bag! Not exactly like the original YSL JUNE BOX BAG, but close enough. I was pretty proud of myself, not gonna lie. It was like when I finally managed to build that bookshelf for the living room – took a while, but it was worth it to see the finished product.
